All-new Link-Belt HTC-86100
The HTC-86100 has a 35–140-foot (11.6–42.7-m), five-section, formed boom produced in Link-Belt's own facility. Teflon wear pucks impregnated in the full contact wear pad surfaces keep the boom lubed without grease. As with all of Link-Belt's booms of this type, there is no deduct in the capacity chart for telescoping any load. Maximum tip height is 237-foot (72.2-m) with the additional two 16-foot (4.9m) lattice inserts that can be installed between the boom head and the fly. Onboard tip height is 205 feet (62.5 m). The standard modular style counterweight package of 11,500 pounds (5 216 kg) provides excellent roadability. For highway travel, each of these counterweight packages move easily to optimize the weight balance between the front and rear axles. The system to raise and lower the counterweight can be controlled entirely from the comfort of the operator's cab. Powering the HTC-86100 is the 445-horsepower (331.8 kW) Caterpillar C13, 12.5-liter engine with 1,550 foot-pounds (2 101.5 J) of torque. It's coupled to ZF's AS-tronic "automated" transmission with 12 forward and two reverse speeds. This transmission provides all the benefits of a manual transmission but without a clutch pedal and still has all the smooth controllability features of an automatic. Air-ride suspension is standard on both the front and rear axles of the HTC-86100. This suspension not only provides a smooth highway ride and on-tire lifting capacities, but also allows jobsite travel with all of the 32,500 lbs. (14 742 kg) of counterweight. The winches deliver 16,880 lbs (7 657kg) of line pull and 480 feet per minute (146.3 m/min) of line speed—impressive numbers when compared to the other truck and all terrain cranes in this class. Spooled onto the winch drum is ¾ in (19 mm) diameter rotation-resistant wire rope. Link-Belt has dominated the North American market in this class for the last decade with outstanding roadability and jobsite performance features. With the new HTC-86100, this dominance looks to go well in to the future. Other stand out features of the HTC-86100:
